The most advanced diagnostic equipment ensures that service repair systems involve the latest in technology. To identify any problems quickly and reliably, and to enable the workshop to solve problems efficiently, IVECO has created a diagnostic platform which reflects the evolution in the product. It is called E.A.SY. (Electronic Advanced System), a system that allows simple diagnosis of the various electronic control units on the vehicle, using a communications module (ECI) and a specific personal computer.

The software for the E.A.SY. platform provides a single, intuitive interface, through which it is possible to consult a guide to repairs indexed by symptom. The ECI module guarantees communications with all current and future IVECO control units.

Each stage of the service programme is undertaken with the objectives of reducing costs to a minimum, obtaining the best performance and maximising vehicle uptime.

This service is available 24/7 – 365 days a year.

How does it Work?

Every new truck sold by IVECO is covered by a complimentary Breakdown Support program for the duration of the warranty period.

After the initial phone call is made:

  • a service vehicle will attend to you and assess the repair of the truck roadside
  • liaison with the driver and fleet controller will be ongoing to ensure that everyone has the necessary information
  • if the assessment indicates a problem unable to be repaired roadside, then an appropriate recovery unit can be arranged at the owner’s expense

Operator Responsibility

Our complimentary IVECO Breakdown Support program is only available to vehicles that are:

  • operated, serviced and maintained in accordance to IVECO’s requirements
  • driven responsibly and in accordance with prevailing road and environmental conditions
  • monitored for warning indicators and appropriate action taken accordingly and in a timely manner

Terms & Conditions

This program only extends to vehicles that are immobile and does not apply to vehicles in remote locations or in off-road terrain not trafficable by a two-wheel drive recovery vehicle.

The services provided by this program does not extend to the following, although assistance can be provided at your cost:

  • unattended vehicles
  • unregistered vehicles
  • cost of recovery (towing) for vehicles unable to be repaired roadside
  • cost of repair unless these are covered by the vehicle warranty
  • vehicles failing as a result of non-genuine manufacturer’s parts or accessories
  • fleet or hire vehicles that have a separate arrangement for roadside services
  • accident damage, classified as impact or collision of any nature
  • attempted or successful theft or vehicle break-in
  • vehicles involved in any form of motor sports
  • flat battery, flat tyre, windscreen or mirror damage, no fuel, operator error

IVECO AND RECALLS

Recalls or campaigns are an integral part of vehicle safety and customer satisfaction across the vehicle industry. They may be targeted to address specific product improvements considered of value to customers, or in specific circumstances to address a safety concern identified by Dealers or OEM technical departments.

Australian legislation requires manufacturers to report safety campaigns to the ACCC, notify individual owners/purchasers, and provide regular reports back to the government. A recently completed campaign for the replacement of Eurocargo E6 driver airbag (100% of affected vehicles addressed) is an example of a recent IVECO safety campaign.

In the IVECO world, we refer to these actions as Product Improvement Programs (PIPs). The scope of an individual PIP may vary widely and as a manufacturer, contacting owners can be problematic as people relocate, vehicles are resold or change hands, and so on.

The purpose of this page is to provide IVECO owners with PIP related information which will be updated from time to time to reflect the current status.

 

CURRENT PIPS BY RANGE

Heavy Range - Acco, X Way, Stralis

P23 Acco Overwidth - certain vehicles with a specific axle configuration have been determined as exceeding the maximum permitted vehicle width. While there are no safety implications, IVECO is required to fit replacement hubs with shorter studs to comply.

P46 Acco Seat Belt - Following identification of an error by the supplier, a small number of vehicles need the seat belt mounting bolts replaced.

Medium Range - Eurocargo

No current PIPs to be communicated.

Light Range - Daily, Daily 4x4

P45 Daily 35S, 50C Van Tow Bar - There is potential for the IVECO branded accessory towbar to be fitted incorrectly. This may result in damage to the towbar or vehicle chassis rails and has been deemed a safety recall.
